Guys.
I got my new fuel filter from Milners, I fitted it (had to go to a garage to loosen a 'mice's shihter' tight bolt) and then when I got it off I realised I couldn't get the filter off the pump primer. Sooooo, I went to Halfords and bought a Oil Filter removal chain (£3.99) and then mounted the fuel filter upside down on the mount in the engine bay (saves me using a vice and does the same job (i.e. holds it in one place) and than I got the filter off....
I then split the contents of the filter on my good jeans and then reassembled with the new one, put it all back together - started him up and yay it works great now. I drove the garage for fuel and it started up fine (normally after a journey it conks out immediately after firing up).
So there you go, I am not thick afterall..... :o).
