  • Whahey! New engine...and a prob...

Right, more crap for you guys to peruse...

I have a new new engine - in fact... TWO!

I have been offered an R-reg 2.4 (2LT) engine - are they suceptible to cracked heads like the old 'uns?

    I've got my eye on a 3.0 - will that fit a '90 2.4?

    Cheers in advance,

    Scott the soon-to-be-Surfer-again.....

      Scott.

As Marky said, a 1998 2.4 (2LT) will be the later redesigned head and will be a Hilux one. Should fit with all ancilliaries from the Surf.

The 3.0 should fit although the engine mountingsmay be in a different place. You will also need the 3.0 ECU and most of the ancilliaries. For simplicity I would say the 2.4 is the way to go, for fun the 3.0 is the way to go.

      Godd luck
