  • brakes fail!

    Hey Ladies and Gents,

I've recently been having problems with my brakes. It seems like when I apply my brake every once in a while the pedal will go right to the floor and braking will be minimal and seem like they don't work. It doesn't happen every time though. I've checked the brake fluid and it is good, I've checked brake lines for any leaking, nothing. The only thing noted is it seemed like my fluid resivoir was wet?/ Any suggestions??? THANKS

It'll be the master cylinder seals that are knackered.

      Brake trouble

I had the same intemitent problem and found it was the belt to the pump.

Does he mean the belts that drive the vac pump on the altenator? that works the break servo dont it, although if he's master cylinder is wet i suspect it's as you say, the seals

If the belts driving the vacuum pump were failing... his batteries would go flat first, 'cos the alternator won't be charging...
