  • How many radiators?

Having just recieved my eagerly awaited Haynes manual I set about a quick coolant flush and oil change on my 1993 2.4td SSR-G, got all the tools out, laid out a ground sheet, took off the bash plate/ sump guard, confident that I would be able to see the radiator drain plug (just like the picture in the manual) and.... hold on ..... whats this?...... who put another ****** radiator under here? Is this normal or am I just 'lucky'?
I presume I will have to remove the radiator or at least loosen it to get anywhere near the sump plug and radiator drain plug? any clues as to the easiest way to move it?

    Cheers

Its the aircon rad, you may be able to undo it if the hoses are flexable. Cant advise you to much on that, as our aircon rad is in front of the main rad!

      How many radiators?

Whatever you do don't disconnect the pipes or you'll get a nasty blast of refrigerant in your face which could be pretty unpleasant.

Seriously though thanks for the info doc,
is this the normal place for the air-con rad?
has anyone else got one here?
how do you get round it for the basic-yet-essential jobs?

        Cheers again!

The sump drain plug is beyond the air con rad. No need to undo it. Dont get the spanner on the transmission sump plug like I did first time. Luckily I realised in time. Oh and the rad drain valve can be accessed through the rubber flappy thing inside the passenger wheel arch.
