Engine cut out and won't start

Had a problem on the motorway when I was pulling up to the toll station, the engine just cut out once I had slowed down. Engine light on. No problems on the motorway drive. Then, I tried to start her up but no luck. It just keeps turning over but won't fire up. I also noticed that the back window had come down after it cut out I think.
Recently had new head put on.

Any ideas what could have gone wrong?

Clogged fuel filter or air getting into the fuel lines are a possibility. Any other symptoms at all, or just no previous warning signs? Any fuel leaks? Does pumping the primer on the fuel filter head make any difference?

Edit: Do you have an immobiliser fitted?
