4 wheel drive

Some time ago I replaced the transmission on my ssrx. Now the 4 wheel drive does not work. There seems to be some sort of a shortas while normal driving the 4 wheel light flashes, and the relay clicks but no 4 wheel engagement. We have lifted ot off the ground and rigged some sort of relay system and the gears engage. Could it be the computer located under the radio that is causing all the trouble?

have you checked the Vac pipes to see if any have come off at all.Take a look at the diagram

Stormforce, thanks for the quick reply. The mechanic said all was well with the vac lines. Prior to the change, whenever I pressed the 4 wheel button on the gearstick, I could actuall hear something engaging below the truck, now I get nothing, no relay click, nothing!

i would still check the vac pipes tho incase any are split or come off.Have a look at the ones on the left hand side of the diagram where the T piece is as there has been a couple of guys have had these pipes come off lately.I think there may be a soleoid underneath somewhere aswell so it will pay to check all the wiring on the tran box etc to see if any are off
