  • timing belt alignment marks

I'm replacing my timing belt and was wondering if anyone had the specs for putting in a new one?

    Thanks again,

I'm assuming here that the td is the same as the standard diesel, The pullys are quite clearly marked and its fairly straight forward theres plenty of room to get in there, the only prob i had was re fitting the timming cover mine was twisted out of shape. would recomend changing the tensioner and idler pully at the same time its a few quid more but is worth it.

yeah, its no biggy, just line up the marks, keep the belt tight between the pullys and the slack bit by the tensioner, turn it over by hand and check they realign after 1 or 2 turns and it done.

The cam pully mark is at 6 o'clock, not 12, thats about the only bit that could catch you out.
