I dont know these trucks, but fitting a crank sensor to any engine isnt hard and needs to be done to any engine thats having an ECU fitted, lots and lots of us old car modifiers fit kits like "mega squirt" to old engines and have to make up brackets for sensors, you just need to find out what sort of signal the ecu is expecting from the sensor and you should be able to buy one (or nick one from a different car in a scrappy) make a bracket so it points at the crank pulley or flywheel and add somethin to give it something to count as it rotates, definatly NOT a reason to bin a whole vehicle, this is a small easy mod that gets done all the time!

Hey,
Was interested in this. How about you take the 2LTE out and you put a 2LT engine in? Complete with its own mechanical pump and all? Just connect the pump up to the ignition and bypass the ECU since you don't need one anymore?
I'm trying to do this at the moment.
What are your ideas? Think there's any luck that way?Surf On!
