Brake(!) Light ??

Hi, I have noticed my brakes being a little softer and the Brake(!) light coming on sometimes in the morning, it also comes on if I pump the brake pedal. I just put on new pads and the pedal does go hard if I pump it with the engine off.

I also put on another vac pump, but no difference, but the pump was second hand and could be also faulty?

Any Help would be great...

If you pump the pedal and the light comes on, it normally means the vacuum isn't good. Maybe the used one wasn't good enough.

New vanes only cost £15 or so, no need really to be buying used vacuum pumps.

Check the fluid level and the switch on the handbrake as well, but the pumping/light on thing is definatly lack of vacuum somewhere.

Thanks, I thought there may be a leak in the vaccum system, where can I buy the replacement vanes?
