  • Air con cas weight

Can any one tell me what gas and what weight of that gas should be in my air con system?
I’m getting it done at work by the fridge shop but they need to know these details also is there a max pressure the system can take as he is going to pressure test it with nitrogen first to make sure there is no leaks.

The connections on the air con pump are push fit connections is this anything to do with the gas conversion that the car might have had????
Finally is there any way to tell what mod’s the system might have had done to it to accommodate the new gas????

    Cheers

R12 was the original gas used and due to it not being so environmentally friendly is no longer used. RS24 is the direct replacement for it, R134a can also be used but the valves seals will need to be changed due to its density as it will leak from the system around all the rubber seals. Somewhere in the region of 750gms should be about right.

Will I have to go to a Toyota dealer to get seals or can I buy a kit aftermarket?
I don’t know if the seals have been changed for R134a so im probably as well to change them as a matter of course.
      cheers
