  • 2lt heads

Hi, can anyone tell me if you can put a head off an ln65 2lt onto an ln130 2lt?
How can i tell if my engine is a 2lt-e? I assume these engines have different heads?
    cheers

There are 2 types of 2L heads, early trucks had the cam over one side and rockers operating the valves, later 2L's have the cam directly over the valves.

The timing belt arrangment is different, so not easily interchangable.

Thats the only differance I know of.

I have seen both types in late 80's/90's pickups, and the 1st gen Surfs have the early type too.

      Thanks for the info.
Mine has the cam in the middle with bucket shims not rockers, so does that mean its a 2lt-e?
      Thanks

It could still be a 2lt the difference is that the 2lt/e has a electronic fuel pump, sort of 'fly-by-wire'

If your throttle cable goes straight the air flap on the intake elbow above the inlet manifold only then its a 2lt/e. If the cable goes to the fuel pump then its a 2lt.
