Have read a lot of the threads re overheating, and have done the following, coolant flush and new rad cap, but still overheating when the engine has to work ie up steep hill, on the flat at a steady 70/75 no probs, any help/advice much appreciated. Model 1993 2.4 SSRX

Assuming yours is an auto, check your transmission fluid. It maybe getting too hot because it's old or the level is low. The transmission fluid flows through the bottom section of the radiator to cool it, if the fluid is getting too hot, this heat is then transfered to the engine coolant causing the temperature gauge to rise and the engine to overheat.
Also, check the viscous fan on the engine, when cold it should be easy to spin, when the engine is hot you should feel some resistance.
With the ignition on, or when the engine is running, pull off the round grey plug just under the rad cap to see if your electric auxillary fan comes on.

And replace your thermostat if you haven't done so already.
