  • Thanks to you all

Hi everyone I managed to install my new headlights and the new speedo today, when I found the speedo face they said you could fit it with two spoons, what a joke had to drill a new hole in the new face so the stop bar on the kph face came though the mph face as you dont get a new one on the new face fitted some new blue backlight bulbs in the dash at the same time. Got the new bulbs in the headlights with a bit of a struggle but all done now, found an oil leak at the back of the engine will take some pics to see if anyone has any ideas about it.Thanks for all your help ,before today the most i've ever done with a motor is put a key in it.

The first step. Soon you'll be upto your armpits in grease and mods.

Whereabouts on the engine is the leak?

Well done on that! Bitten by the Surf bug...

Couldn't help but notice your wheels... They look veeeeery similar to mine.. Any idea what make they are?
Did you have them fitted, or were they on there when you bought it?

Dave, is that the actual front wheel hub centre? The bit that's usually
hidden under the plastic caps? Or is it some other kind of cover?

Guess who's taking his remaining caps off the front tomorrow.
They look so much better than the plastic things. You can tell I've
never had the front wheels off.

I've never had the covers, they wouldn't fit on these or my previous wheels.

Covers are just unnecessary weight, aren't they??!!

Maybe I read this wrong, but have you fitted the Mph face over the Kph one.

                  speedo

Yes andy over the top, if I had changed them I would not have had the stop bar sticking out of the new face

Yup. Plus they look a bit cheesy. Or, come tomorrow, they did.

The correct way to do it is to cut the pin off of the old one, then glue it on to the new one, it should of had the hole already.

Just make sure that the needle does not catch on the extra thick face, if you are going to leave it like that, another thing is that with 2 faces the lights may be a bit dim.

                          dim face

Yes I've been in it tonight and the one face is a bit dim ,I did try the needle before it went back in to make sure it did not clip the face on its full movement.
