little black box?

the surf has sprung a fuel leak it looks like a banjo joint underneath the fuel pump??
but while I was looking for the leak I have come across a small black box
(1 1/2 inchs long 1inch wide and 1/4 inch thick with three wires coming out of it one is an earth and the other two are conected to the fuel pump wires via snap conectors so its not a factory fit any ideas

I am no expert but this could be a junction box for an after market immobiliser kit that has been fitted by dodgy DIYer.
Someone else might have a better idea though.
