help wrong fuel

can anyone advise iput 10 quid of petrol in my2.4 diesel drove 1mile before the engine died

you'll need to bleed through some diesel.

Fingers crossed, the fact that you only did a short journey means you should get away with it.

Change fuel filter if you want and pre fill it with diesel , fill tank to brim with diesel . Most diesels enjoy a run on petrol with no ill effect apart from modern HDI diesels . Should not have died though , but bleed the system through when you have filled up with diesel and keep topping tank up each time you use a 1/4 tank .

i did that once - put £15 in before i noticed. filled the rest with diesel, didnt notice the difference!

WHAT???HOW???WHO???WHY???WHEN? ??HOW STONED???

mind you, my sister was told to check her own engine oil years ago after an argument with her old man (she'd told him to wash his own clothes etc blah blah) she checked it, needed topping up, so she spent half an hour carefully topping up through the dipstick tube (bad enough)...






...with WATER!!!!!

she'd remembered hearing people talking about topping up BATTERIES with water and somehow took that to mean that went for oil as well!?!?!?

guess who doesn't mind doing all the maintainance on his wife's cars now!
