  • Air Con Gas

    Can anyone enlighten me please?
I want to get my truck's AC regassed.
What spec gas do I need? Whats likely to have been the original gas used?
I spoke to a company and they say they can't do it as it was manufactured before 93. They don't know what is installed in a Surf. Perhaps they can do it if I tell them.

    Thanks

Hi there m8ty. ther are quite a few threads on this topic.
There seem to be a lot of "garages" that will try and tell you that
the truck need a modification or this and that all for a lot of cash.

I get mine done by a guy in mobile guy in Reading, can't remember
what gas was in there I think it was " 12a " or something but the
sticker on me truck say "replaced with RS24 " with no mods or new
conectors etc. Last time was about the £60 mark.

Do a lot of ring a round via the yellow pages till you find someone that
knows there stuff , good luck

was the halfords one any good? Mine is not as cold as it should be and probably just needs a top up. Can you mix the gasses though?
                What comes around goes around!!

Google is always great place to start to get info. R134a and R12 cannot really be mixed as the oil required and the types of seals used uare not compatible. RS24 is the industry standard replacement gas for R12 or you can have the system changed over to work with R134a (about £300).

                  Goole Search For RS24
                  ======
Just gotta finish doing the next mod...
