  • New Bigger Better Turbo

Hello, i own a 1996 Toyota Hilux with the 2L-Te engine. I just recently installed a BOBBOX Superchip from dieselbob and added a top mount Mazda Rx-7 intercooler to it.Performance has increased drammaticaly.Power has really improved but i would like more out of it. i was planning on swapping the turbo for something much better? any suggestions please? mine is auto tranny.i dont know what best a/r value to choose for it because if i choose the wring turbo than i will have much turbo lag and will be worst.Help plsss.

Normally running a larger turbo will cause more turbo lag. A lot of new or high proformance cars run Bi-turbos. One small one to get you going then a larger one for even more power cutting out the turbo lag.
No idea if it's possible with a surf, can't see why not. Seen lots of scoobys with more than one turbo.
      i like it muddy!

Incedentaly, I talk to 'Diesel Bob' alot, he does all my injector recons, and we're getting uprated injectors and ECU upgrade for Linda's truck when it's put back together, and he's opinion is leave the boost pressure alone, its more than enough for a deisel motor, and only puts extra strain on the motor.

Injectors-ECU-intercooler is the way to go and keep it reliable.

Hello, i have already istalled his ecu upgrade that is the BOBBOX and fitted an intercooler too. I dont see the idea of bigger injectors cause the standard injectors that the 2lte uses are good enough infact if you turn open the chip more than half of it lots of black smoke will come out from the back cause of injecting too much diesel so i dont think there is anyflow problem.the big problem with the 2lte engines that regards boost is that thay use a boost pressure sensor and boost is only limited to about 13/14psi. how can i override that please?

have a look here http://www.well.com/~mosk/welcome.htm this site gives the info you need but is a petrol engine, you may be better with meth/water injection or even no2 set to fill the hole before the turbo cuts in

Propane injection is also worth thinking about.
