  • Do diesels lose power with holed exhausts?

Me again... Over the last few weeks, my truck's lost a bit of its 'oomph'..

Not really that noticable, but noticed that the boost is down slightly (I fitted a gauge ages ago..) The other day, I was poking around underneath the truck (to see my fuel leaking over the drive.. See other post..) and noticed the middle section of the exhaust is holed.

Would this cause a loss of power? I think I remember that 2 stroke engines rely on a bit of back pressure to help them run properly, and was wondering if such a thing might be the same on Turbo Diesels?
    It just does, OK?

if it does then im introuble because mine only has half an exhaust pipe, from after the front box i have sawn mine off, i have no drop in performance and funny enough no real increase in exaust noise disspite lossing 5 foot of pipe and a silencer box, only prob is fumes when back door and sunroof open together.
