LN130 serial numbers and recall

found the above thread on this forum after some digging about the 2.4 head worries...

if my serial number is not on the head gasket recall list (LN130*7008794), is that a good or bad thing> i.e. a recall would have been fixed, or a non recall wouldnt have the problem?

sorry guys i know you probably get asked this sort of thing twice a day by all newbies, but just want to put the worries to rest either way

If you look at this link at DVLA, it shows all vehicle recalls. www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp

i think the later 1993 2.4's had the newer heads on them.i had my 2.4 for nearly 2 yrs with no trouble at all and that was a 1993.but i got a 3lt now and will have to sell the 2.4

i know this post is old but i can't find any info or get any responses on the threads i have posted. where is the serial number on the head? and would a 2.4 head fit on a 3lt?

There is no serial number on heads. Recall info has the frame number as a reference. A 2.4 head will not fit a 3 Ltr. They are totally different engines. The KZN 130 has no recalls regarding heads or the gasket that I know of.

Frame number will be on the plate on the firewall and driver side chassis rail behind front wheel.
