OK,
did 200 miles in it yesterday, strsight down A34 to winchester and back,

noticed a (distinct) smell of transmission oil,
although no apparent leaks,

back of car NOT covered in fine film of it either,

do they give off that particular smell, when used on a prolonged trip?

Were you following a rubbish old Ford for the duration?

Err,,, They are not very good vehicles......... In my opinion of course.

Had a few myself, including an exploder....My goodness that was an awfull vehicle.

But hey, don't take my word for it. Just ask the North American buyers that are deserting them by the million in favour of Euro and Jap stuff. Its true

There were an awfull lot of old landy's cluttering up the road around newbury

perhaps the evocative smell of
DISSAPOINTMENT (or Land rover ownership, to you an me)

was what caught in my nose,
as its all right today.

do you know, some numpty
in a clapped out RR, stepped right out in front of me
on the way North again, for no better reason, than I was flying past him.

theyre' a funny old lot them,

but its nice to live in the past though I expect
