slight water leak

Anyone suggest the cause of this?

I recently had the vehicle serviced and a new water pump fitted at huge expense.

Other day I parked on a hill facing down hill at about 30 degrees and when i came back she had dropped a couple of pints of coolant on the floor.

Got her back home on the drive and no more leak. Filled her up again ant topped the expansion tank up to near the top to be safe.

Looked at the level in the thermostat housing after leaving her to cool and it had gone down a bit so i topped it up. Drove 5 miles and removed the cap to check and its still full.

Just had a peep under her this morning and all is fine.

Why did she drop the 2 pints??????

Mine did the same thing. I'm guessing/hoping that she spat the water out through the overflow on the header tank. Possibly the overflow just doing its job or a slight air bubble in system suddenly decided to shift causing shift of water.
I made the mistake of thinking I had loads of water because of full header tank, untill she started over heating in traffic. 3lts. later and some bleeding through, all is well.

I have had a drive this morning and stopped after a mile to check. water dripping out of the underneath! popped the bonnet and the water is coming from the lower of the 2 hoses that come from the thermo housing.
Thats a relief........ at least i know its a bit of hose or a clip thats causing the problem now.

You probably need to replace the spring clips with jubilee clips, Every now and again I have trouble getting a hose to seal after disturbing them. You often need to clean the metal end that the hose goes over to get a good seal as well.

Just gotta get the AC regassed now as they had to empty it to get to the water pump??

Dumbasses! What B/S. I change heads without degassing the air-con, in fact me and Charlie replaced his whole engine (twice! ) without disturbing the air-con!!!!

Yeah! that's what i thought Tony.

They claimed that they had to do it to get the bits off so they could get to the pump. I thought this sounded like a load of nonesense at the time.

The little steel roller that does not seem to do much but stop belts flying about seems odd to me. has it supposed to be like this???

Yeah, I think its just to keep the aircon belt from bouncing around when you switch the aircon on, they usually just skim the back of the belt when its not under load.

I thought it odd but its got no means of adjustment so i guess its just the way it is..
