  • glowplug fuse

Been having problems with cold starting for a while now,
and now discovered that the 80 amp glowplug fuse has blown.
Thought it would be simple, but I cant get the ****** thing
out - I'm sure I'm being stupid but can anyone tell me how to
    remove it?
Also, if my battery is knackered, do I need to replace both at the
    same time?

If you have two batterys remove the one by the fuse box . take the fuse box cover off then unbolt the fuse box from the body.. you may need to undo some conectors. you are then able to turn the fuse box over and then unbolt the 80 amp fuse . these are about £9 from toyota

mines also a bast*rd to start in the cold, could it be the glow plug fuse?
Would it start at all if the fuse has blown?

You can see if the fuse has blown just by looking at the top of it.
If the fuse is o.k. then it's your glowplugs that need replacing.

Check the fuse! I am assuming that with it blown the engine will run, but
impossible to start in the cold - when it does eventually start, I have no problems starting while the engine is still warm - more than about 3
            hours, then its a nightmare.

It will eventually start from cold, but your batteries will take a hammering unless you get the fuse replaced a.s.a.p.

Be careful when changing the fuse, unless you disconnect both batteries one side of the fuse will be live so take with the spanners.
