These small relays are available off the rack from Maplins UK
http://www.maplin.co.uk/?C=GKW&U=maplins&T=E
I bought some the other day, as having looked at a new board,
for similar money to you, I had the same thought.
if they cant' supply you, let me know

Hi
Right I've had car for three weeks now, and at once, there was the prob' with window.
using key, would 'drop' window OK, but hardly ever raise without a fight.
same with switch.
So, had mechanic look over it,
he suggested a new board ultimately,
but to avoid shocking costs, he re-soldered odd contact on mine,
whilst I looked about for replacement relays,
as these are the likely failed slightly moving parts in the whole system, once we'd ruled out;
broken cables/fuses/switch/key barrel etc.
Once I'd done a search on this site I unearthed this schematic
which together with numerous threads, indicates the relays as being the first components worth replacing, especially as they are small change to buy
hope this helps,

well
Right in the first instance;
I'm quite new to the surf world.
Having said that
( and fully expecting a boffin here in a minute correcting me)
If that was my problem I would go straight for the relay board
tucked in rear wing behind the cubby box
(panel out job)
and possibly buy a cuople of little relays from Maplins
as pictured above
and get someone to solder them in for you, if you don't fancy doing it

hi again
Sorry for delay, apparently BT have played up tonight
Maplins JM67's are pennies to buy, so even paying an engineer to solder them in for you would still be hundred of pounds less than a new board off Toyota
now,
have you inspected the connecting wire between car/tailgate,
might conceivably be frayed,
aside from that, there don't appear to be any more moving parts in that area, that might be guilty

Could be a broken wire where the loom goes from the boot lid to the chassis (a little bit of black ribbed cable trunking with a black plastic cover) Cant remember which wire it is if it closes but wont open. was either the green with red or the green with yellow I think, but I posted the full bit after I fixed it on mine on this section. have a search and you'll find it.
