  • Job Done on NEW Head

    Hi All

Well I've just finished connecting up and bled the injectors. When she started she was a bit rough and noisy. Then settled down. When I revved her a bit to 2000rpm she seemed to have a 'miss fire' like you would have on petrol engine with a wet lead/distributor.

    Any ideas??

    Cheers Dev

Devon, how long have you run the engine for ? they always splutter a bit after a head job, sometimes seen it go on for a few minutes before clearing itself, its usually just air in the fuel system give it a blast down the road after you have bled the coolant etc it will soon stop .
    Cheers Steve

      Solved Splutter

      Hi Steve

She actually only started spluttering once warm.

What had happed when I stripped the head I did not use a Long Reach Socket one came off no probs, but two undid itself. When I re-assy the needle must have had a bit of muck on it. I only thought about it this morning and stripped the coulprit out(Needle was tight) cleaned all in some carb cleaner, lubed with some oil and put back in. Now she is purring.

      Thanks for all the help.

Ps. Can you let me have the details for the silicone oil for the fiscous fan so I can get some and service the thing.

The oil is 3000 and from memory you need 50ml of it (silicon fluid). Toyota part number is
        P/N 08816-03001

          Cheers for that Koi.
That will give me complete piece of mind once I've done that on the week end.
