Just a comment to throw into the melting pot. I had the check engine light on most of the time until it was really warm. The light went out when the turbo came in - late, but on again when the turbo dropped out at about 3200rpm. Thought it was the high pressure switch (location unknown). Had a poke around pushing and pulling tubes etc. There is a switch on the nearside by the air filter with a tube attached. The connector came off easy but latched when replaced. Bingo! The check engine light went off and turbo now comes in at the right time - and stays in! Fuel economy appears to have improved from 23mpg too.
