New Surf Checks

Just got a new Surf, 90000km. I want to know when I need to worry about cambelt change and anything similar. I know it needs oil change. Anything else I should check?
Also, I'm quite new to car maintenance.

Welcome Wendal, if you use the Search facility you will find a wealth of information regarding your baby

But if your baby has just come into the country then replacement of the following should be strongly considered:

Cambelt (UNLESS you know when it was changed)
Tyres (Driving in the wet on Jap rubber can be SO entertaining)
Stereo (A band expander does not make the Jap radio fully UK spec)

And make sure you apply the following TLC and MUD

if you havent got any history showing belts etc id say get them all done and full service too to make sure.

Best to replace the coolant too with some decent UK coolant, flush out the system first then refill it all with decent concentrated coolant, then run the engine with the heaters all on full blast, then squeeze your coolant hoses to get rid of air bubbles, then top it up till full.You will reap the rewards if you do this sooner rather than later.
