Hello,
I know that there has been lots of posting along these lines before, but not only am I a Surf newbie - I'm a general car dunce, so I need some simplified help!!
I have recently bought a 1991 Toyota Hilux Surf 2.4 Turbo Diesel, imported from Japan to Namibia a few years ago. It was fine initially, then the air con started playing up and then a few weeks ago it was overheating off the scale. We couldn't go more than a couple of km without it overheating. We have been told that the cylinder head is cracked and they have managed to get a new one and they are fitting it at the minute.
I have asked them to check the thermostat and pump etc while they are putting the engine back together.
Is this likely to happen again? What can I do to prevent it?
Remember, please type slowly for me :-)
Thanks,
Fearghal
