engine fault diagnostics

OK I had this prob with a Supra, but, I lost the paper work..... which are the two connections in the diagnostics box you short to get the code ?
And does anyone have a link to a simple list of codes.... tried doing the search on here and got piles of more links, cant be bothered to troll through it all, lifes to short and I aint getting any younger !! lmao
