  • HELP! Head Gasket?

My surf (2.4 ssr-g) has been in the garage for two weeks. The mechanic believed head gasket to be gone, it had classic symptoms. Eventually he found time to take apart, check for warping (there was none), then replaced head gasket. When he started the surf they symptoms were exactly the same. Where has he gone wrong, he has no idea what to do next and I am without transport? Is there a common fault on these vehicles in this area of the engine?

Sounds like he forgot to check the head for cracks, that what usually happens.

problems like yours are not the pleasant way to start on the forum!!
i wish you good luck with your head, in here you are in good hands, the advice given by others is on here is usually very good and worth following.
        good luck

get the viscous fan serviced or replaced before you use the vehicle after it is repaired, thats my advice.
