THE worst timing...was just leaving to collect my new engine for my track car, and the surf decided it was a good time to show me that its fuel pump seals had gone (it took me about 2 hrs of clambering around to work this out, and its still only speculation)
So I've ordered a new set of seals from milners, and been using the aussie tech site to help me get the pump out.
I've got as far as removing the cambelt cover (took me about 5 hrs to get to this stage ).
I now have 2 questions;
How do I undo the nut on the fuel-pump pulley? It doesn't seem to want to undo...is there something I'm missing here, or is it just going to require an inordinate amount of brute force?
Are there any instructions anywhere else on the net about how to actually remove the fuel pump? The aussie site goes from having the cambelt cover off, to having the fuel pump on the table ready for messing with...
I've got a full tank of diesel so I'd rather it didn't all vanish!
failing that, I'm going to have to add a haynes manual to my milners order before they open in the morning!!!
Thanks guys
