Boot Lock

Me again - Bad surf weekend! Its the boot lock this time - I know about the lock not opening untill the window is right down... no matter what i do I can't get the lock up to open the tailgate... Its stuck!

Can anyone suggest a way of getting the tailgate down to fix the problem - I cant get it to come apart to have a look whilst its up!

The window is fine, it goes up and down as normal

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

just an idea, but could'nt you climb into the back and remove the door skin to see if that woud give you access to the lock mechanism? sounds like your window is'nt going down far enough and not allowing the lock to do it's thing.

Have tried that but can't seem to get the skin off (only mine trying!) the window goes all the way down so the glass is right inside the tailgate as it should do, I was wondering if there was any way of overiding the locking mechanism??

Will have another go at getting the skin off tonight though

Have you tried using the switch in the cab as well as the key? It might be just the the key switch that has the problem.

yeah tried that mate... no joy... i'm fairly sure its somthing to do with the internal mechanism that stopt the door opening with the window up - i just can't get to it to make sure/fix
