1.the bars

i think its going to be cheaper and less painfull to get a set made up
by a stainless steel fabricator
then i can use something like this to mount the foglights

Hello mate , Im a Bedford Surfer ( black over silver with bullbars and yellow fogs ) live up near the Marina . Seeing more and more surfs in bedford every week.

Barton-Le-Clay aka Devils Pit is on the 16th. I assume you know where it is , if not you can tag along with me , should be getting there for 9.30ish

2. Rubber seals - You might have to wait for a breaker to strip the seals. I noticed in the paper there is a Jap Breaker at Kempston Hardwick , dont know if they get them in.

3. Rims - you can pick up some cheap steel rims from here or ebay. ( Im running road tyres on alloys at the pit ! )

6. Lunch ... I find beer fills you up , and work goes much quicker in the afternoon ...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hello everybody

just got my smurf
very happy indeed

There are a few things that are needing sorted on it
i have checked the forums and as many of the UK stockist as i can find
but there are a few things i cant find anywhere


1. Bull Bars

i have wrap around bars that seem to be stainless steel they also have a jaos sticker on them. The problem i have is that the bar that holds the lights is bent beyong repair (i will try and post an image if i can)

the jaos website has bars that look like mine except the bar that holds the light is box section and mine is round

they look like these ones
but mine do not have the center bar at the top
(the one that links the 2 side sections)

2. the rubber seal around the windows has shrunk drivers side and the passenger side

3. i'm also looking for 5 wheels (i have 5 wheels already but i want to have a spare set for offroad tryes)

so if anyone has any knocking about let me know

4. is there anyone in the Bedford area on here that goes offroad or can help me with anything or just wants to meet up for a beer let me know

5. what affect would having an automatic have off road i have heard that it is not ideal

6. what should i have for lunch i was thing pizza but i'm not sure???

OK.

1. Jaos are not available in the UK, you will need to get them in Japan or from the US. www.butmanindustries.com (Jason Burtman) can get hold of them although I'm not sure if you can get parts separate for JAOS stuff.

2. Again best to get this from the US, carriage should not be great. You might want to try http://www.toyotaparts4u.com/
You will need parts for a 3rd Gen 4Runner. They will be the same LHD or RHD.

3. Get yourself a set of Steel wheels for Off road, they are easier to repair if you clout one - you can bend them back into shape, alloys shatter. www.Bronco4x4.com or www.4x4accessoriesandtyres.com or a number of other places. Get 16 x 7 white 8 spokes for that authentic hardcore off roader look or even 16x7 Daytonas in black - get that rock crawler look.

4. There are quite a few people around Bedfordshire / hertfordshire and also a few days at Devils Pit in Barton Le Clay which is only spitting distance from you.

5. Personally I prefer Auto, you don't get much engine braking with a diesel anyway, you just need to get used to it. Brakes on an auto tend to be better anyway. Autos make the whole thing a lot easier and power takeup is a lot smoother which is really important in the dirty stuff.
