Ian, yes price with exchange included. Thought about repairing head but new genuine Toyota head to good to resist.


One other thing, if you phone at a reasonable time one day they normally deliver the next.

Head arrived today, shiny new ready to bolt on, 18 new bolts, head gasket and complete gasket set, 5 new belts in the post should arrive tomorrow so Friday is rebuild day

jim, all head gaskets are like that they always cover some of the holes

Nigel look at your H/G. all small hole in the gasket is surrounded by the mark of the larger hole in the block/head casting.

Most people look at it think its wrong and cut the hole out bigger, this just reduces you water pressure!

Well its all back together again and........................... ..












its working fine. Took a few attempts to start but she fired up and sounds lovely, better than before.
Took it out for a quick spin and she flys now, thought it was pretty nimble before but now it picks up a lot quicker sounds better, feels smoother, nice.
Couldn't have done it with out Andy's (Lucky) help, well probably could but would still be muddling me way through taking it apart, so a big thankyou Andy for your help.

I reckon my head was shot ages ago, probably before I bought it, I reckon they are so coked up the crack/s are sealed in the stuff and with our doses of redex more flowing driving not that stop start stuff it gradually cleans them up to reveal the cracks, just my thoughts.

So shes back on the road and ready for Sunday, put the bike back in the shed

the reason i ask is a guy said, i think on the aussie site, that a whole row of galleries were blocked off by the original gasket, and the replacement one he had gotten had the holes punched. another reason they thought for head cracking. just wondering if maybe a batch had been made that way, there was also a reply from another guy saying he had found the same thing.

Yes matched the two gaskets up, factory one against A Toyota genuine replacement one and they are both exactly the same.
