Just before I get stuck with the oil out and no new sump plug washer to put it back together, do I need a special washer or will a certain size of the normal copper washer do the trick?
Milners do fibre washers at 50P each. I've changed oil twice before and re-used the old washer without any problems, although I've bought a couple this time with three oil filters (saves on postage). As long as they are tight and not leaking you could probably get away with re-using the old one but it's your decision.
