Iv'e been considering this for a while just don't have that many outlets for veg
oil where I am. I can imagine going into Morrisons and filling 4 supermarket trollies then spending ages trying to pour it in while in the carpark on my own in the middle of winter in the rain.

Maybe the way to go would be to install a tank at home with own pump and buy serious bulk from source. Maybe the initial cost and fact that we are still experimenting with the stuff puts me off. I've an old diesel escort which has done 150k miles and is very tired maybe I could try it out on that first.

I hear that when you follow a veg machine on the motorway it smells like the fat frier. But who cares if it's cheap.

.....before I go and blow up my engine or something.....am I right in thinking I can just pour up to 40% veggie oil into my diesel tank on my 2.8 SSRX??

With diesel prices shooting up it sounds like a good idea??...

my 2.4 runs on about 20 litres of veg oil per fill of 50+litres. Over here that saves about 12 Euro a tank with the currnt price of 114c per litre.

There has been no convesion and she runs well enough.

whos been taking all the veg oil then?

I noticed my local Tesco - Inverurie, had run out for 3l bottles veg oil last night and a lot of 1l bottles gone - the cheap stuff anyway!

wonder if this is a due to people carting off loads for their cars!!

It doesn't work, we've tried, bulk suppliers of veg oil are far more expensive than buying it from supermarkets or Costco, some suppliers want nearly £1 a liter for 1000 liters!!! Something doesn't add up!!
