hi got big probs with the 2.4 surf,just aquiered a 2.4 hilux with a recon engine
(£200 quid) can you put the turbo on it of the surf?
or can you put the hilux engine into the surf?

Turbo should fit if you take over the complete top end minus the head - i.e. manifolds, intake housing, throttle mechanism, the air cleaner (has a sensor on it), vacuum pipes, turbo, etc etc.

2L and 2LT use the same head. Only problem will be if the Surf has a 2LTE in it as it has an ECU which will not work with the 2LT (2L with a Turbo) and the throttle will be different, and the fuel pump and there is no crank sensor on the non electronic 2LT.

If it is a 2LT then should not be to much problem.
