Cracked Head - The Proof
Regarding my earlier post about my head, i've now had it fixed (amazing - went in tuesday, picked up today - details to follow), and thought the pics attached might be of ghoulish interest to you lot.
The arrows of course indicate the cracks running right across the head piece, also of not is the corrosion caused by the moisture entering the cylinder itself, and causing a pitted affect across the face of the head.
Now down to business, the garage i used was CEGS in Cardiff, Tel: 029 20553368, and they did the following:
Removed Head, strip down to pressure test - Head failed (Obviously)
Fitted NEW head and all valves
Cut calves and tap in to new head
Reshim and refit - Tested OK
Change of engine oil, filter and add coolant.
All for a grand total of £789.84, which would appear a good deal, so I would recommend them to any other taff surfers out there. Also to be taken into account is the incredibly fast timescale. I can't guarantee yours will be the same, but my truck went in tuesday lunchtime and i've just picked it up. Pretty good i reckon. Highly recommended.
