  • Ecu wiring diagram

Does anyone please know where I can get a wiring diagram for the ecu for my 1992 2.4 turbo diesel manual surf ssr- g, LN 130 is the model designation. Its been off the road since the beginning of feb and garage where its at (in newcastle upon tyne) say they need that before they can proceed. The original symptoms were loss of power, like it was missing, followed by a total failure.
    Thanks

        codes

Hi, the codes are 'normal'. What were your codes and what did it turn out to be in the end?
Have sent the pin out chart as sent by Trev above to the garage. However, it is for the automatic 2L-TE so may not be much use, as my surf is a manual.

Thanks Trev, Have sent the pin out chart to the garage. However, it is for the automatic 2L-TE so may not be much use, as my surf is a manual. Have received this morning the Australian full workshop manual this morning from ebay (the max ellerby one) So will send that too. In the meantime if anybody sees the pin out data for the 2L-TE manual transmission I would be grateful.

hi davee.buy the sounds of it im having the same prob as you are.lack of power, misfire and lots of smoke when you take your foot off of the accelerator.if you do manage to rectify the fault could you let me know what it was. i removed the blue terminal from the front n/s of the pump and this seemed to remove the misfire and runs quite well but the smoke is still there.

Lack of power, misfire and lots of smoke

The Surf started to cough at road junctions back fire with lots and lots of smoke, this would clear it's self on revving the engine, this started to get worse over a short period would cut out whilst driving. The Surf would only run for 3 mins then stop and would not start again till the next day . We did have the timing belt changed just 6 months prior to all of this so it was suspect, had it jumped a tooth or not done correctly. We had this redone at great expence. Did not change a thing... "DifferentGarage" 2 months of looking at the Surf parked out side his garage the mechanic plucked up courage, took the test meter and measured the resistance on the sensor on top of the fuel pump when cold it had a resistance then when it ran for 3-4 mins it had lost its resistance. Bought a second-hand fuel pump and that sorted all the problems out, the codes we got 6 and 12 ... Hope this helps someone... Gillian

The ECU pinouts chart that Trev sent you works for the manual transmission also. The ECT (Tranny) controller has nothing to do with the Engine controller, it only picks up info through few common wires like the "idl" position of the accelerator, VC and so on.

I posted that pinouts chart from data printed on the mother board of a ECU for 2l-TE. I have installed the same ECU in two vehicles one a manual transmission and the other an automatic and they work perfectly fine. I have also installed the same ECU's in a manual Trans Prado 1992 without any problems.
The reasons for excessive smoke or other misbehaviour are due to specific problems: broken wires, faulty sensors or things like these. You need any other help let me know and I will help as best as I can.
