  • soft to hard

    Hello

I am on soft at the moment and am desperate to be on hard
can't seem to sort this out ( I bet there are jokes )
suspension I mean!! is there a relay for this system ? when I click hard switch I can hear it fire but I am remaining soft, and am bouncy all the time any thoughts on what I can try (no Viagra won't fix it)

are the original shocks still fitted?... could be that they've been replaced with non adjustables?

Except that non-originals all tend to be firmer than the soft setting on the Toyota ones. The difference isnt really that great - is like a livelier more fidgety ride - but not a fundamental change of behaviour. The actuators are motor drives - so if you hang your head out of the window as you flick the switch you should be able to hear them working. Alternatively - have a look at the tops of the rear shocks to see if there is a black eliptical assembly bolted to the top of the standard shock body - same idea at teh front but rears are easier to see. If they are there and actuating then maybe they are just tired.

Best way to go from soft to hard. Throw money at it and get new shocks, springs, and torsion bars. The best money I have spent on her so far (except the head from Steve being fitted by Tony), best bit is with spring compressors, and a high lift trolley jack you can do it yourself!!
                      Gone from 4x4 to 1x2

Nice going Marky. To think that you spent all that time taking them off just to take a picture - service above and beyond the call of duty

                              does it get stuck?
