To tow or not to tow?

I have a 2.4td mk1 1990 ssr yep she's basic but has covered a genuine as far as I will ever know 80,000 miles. I need to know will she pull a 4 berth caravan or am I asking too much of the old gal? Please advise before my wife gets carried away with the "Which Caravan" magazine.

As said above check out http://www.yotasurf.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=2931 My 2.4 pulls around 1 3/4 tonne no problem.
