  • had advise not sure its right. Help needed

I was on this site before asking about a grinding noise when i turned full lock and the feedback i got back was that it was down to stop ends needing greasing. So i asked a friend to have a look at it who has had alot of experience with 4x4's and he said it was the bushes needing replaced but what probably will happen is that they will change the arms aswell cause your better off doing that instead of trying to just change the bushes. He also said the cost would be around £200 to fix. Could this be the problem, is that the procedure, and is that the cost? Any help would be great. Thanks

just grease the stops for now then check for the noise, the bushes might be the cause but the differance between a £4 tub of grease and £200 of parts is quite a bit,

Cheers. Now the next question is that I don't know exactly where these stop ends are being a plumber with no mechanical experience atol. If you can describe where they are that would be good. thanks

If you turn the steering to just under full lock and look behind wheel you should see what looks like a bolt that can touch a half moon shaped end stop.
You could grease these, they originally have a plastic cap that fits over the bolt. I got some new caps from Toyota 2 x 50 pence or something similar, no more problems.

Thanks Foxhill. I have only had the car for 2 weeks and I am really pleased with it but this noise is doing my nut in and being from the city There is always people around when I turn and the looks you get are not the best. Thanks again.

(what is it though is it some kinda hidden camera or the long lost grease nipple for the carbon arm controls?)
