  • Leaking fluids, poss steering

    Hi.

Just been giving the motor a bit of a clean, I had a look underneath and it seams I'm loseing fluid from somewhere. it's on the drivers side right at the front, my bashplate's coverd in the stuff. looks like it may be something to do with the stearing, but that's only my guess, I don't have a clue about this sort of thing , I just know how to drive it !
The steering seems a little stiff if there is no revs on the engine and I try to turn the wheel.
I have attached a couple of pic's, not very goo quality because I had to take them with my phone.
The pics are vieved from underneath.

    Any sudgestions are much appreciated.

    Andy.

After doing an oil change I noticed fluid dripping. I looked for the highest point to where the oil/fluid was. ('cos leaks don't go up). Mine tracked to the bottom of the hose that comes from my power steering reservoir. Haven't done it yet I need to get a hose.

Well I've taken the plunge and phoned the garage, It's going in tomorrow for an inspection. Hopefully it's going to be something simple and cheep to fix.

Need to get it done ready for Salisbury plain at the end of the month.

      Andy.

Having just rebuilt my steering box due to bad seals, i would say thats exactly what you have. The good news is you can do it yourself but it is fiddly. Cost me €130 for a new seal kit, or you can pay someone 500 to do it for you!
