  • Help with Air Conditioning Testing Please******

Hi guys, I have been looking at my air conditioning unit on my surf today.

It just does not get cold.

What I have found so far................

    AC switch works OK..

    Drive pully switches on......

Internal fan works and switches between inside air & outside air.

Pipes onto unit under bonnet, one becomes hot and one becomes cold.

I gues the cooling system is working, the gas seems to be OK as the unit is opperating. The cooling pipes under the bonnet into the rear of the dash become cold.

Could this mean that the heat exchange is fkd??

Any idea's or sugestions would be most greatfully received.

    Many thanks

does any one know where I can get a re-gass in newton abbot please??

I would have thought that if the gass was to low, then the ac would not work.

      I dunno.

As far as I know, the system does cut out when the gas is really low. Usually the light on the A/C switch flashes and the compressor will not cut in when this happens.

According to my son who is a Mazda mechanic any main dealer should be able to re-gas virtually any air-con system so a Toyota dealer would be your best bet. Not exactly cheap though due to the environment friendly gas now used.
