Manic Rev Counter

hi guys

your thoughts on a little problem with my 2.4.

The rev counter is playing up. the needle is all over the place. sometimes at tickover the reeding is correct at 750rpm sometimes 250rpm sometime nill.
this problem seems to be present at all revs and sometimes the needle is visably flitting from correct to silly.

Any ldeas what the problem is or were the pickup for the rev counter is?

hmmm mine has started to do the same recently. only a prob on tickover though.

any ideas peeps?
