    Hope someone can help answer a silly question but i lent my 1990 2.4TD surf to a friend a few days ago he is now having what sounds like fuel starvation problems so i was going to run over today after stopping at a local parts shop for some new fuel supply line and filter etc figure i will change them out if needed here is the thing i am hoping someone can help me with i dont remember the fuel supply line size that feeds the fuel filter? 1/4 inch 5/16 3/8?? any one know this of the top of their head if you do it will save me an extra hrs drive

    I fitted 8mm inner diameter hose up to my filter last year, no probs

      when was the last time you drained the water from the filter. Is the problem present at idle as well as driving speeds??

        Well found the problem seems the drain valve in the bottom of the fuel filter worked itself loose and as the surf sat over night it would loose enough fuel and pressure that it would run like crap the next morning till the system pressureized again then ran fine Anyhow just tightened up that drain and problem solved
