Having flushed and refilled with new stuff today all I can do is go thru the way I refilled.

All internal heaters set to hot.

During the flush I removed the thermostat and flushed down thru there. With everything back in place I slowly poured in thru the rad-cap opening about 4 litres. I got to thinking that with water filling up thru the engine via the bottom hose the air would have nowhere to escape so I pulled the thermostat back out and filled till coolant spilt out of there.

Now with stat back on it took another litre or whatever, I removed the overflow bottle and rinsed the brown out, filled it up to the halfway fill mark and hooked it back up. I ran the engine now putting the rad-cap on after a minute coz water starts to spill from here if you dont.

The heating system is liable to hold air so to vent that off I undid a clip and pulled the hose off the steel pipe that runs down the top-LHS of the engine (as you look at it) the picture is attached showing there definitely was air locking coz there wasnt any water flowing out as the engine ran.

Getting the coolant to flow thru the heating system was easy enough, I just put the hose back on, revved a few times, squeezed all hoses - top/bottom/heating , pulled the hose off again and got sprayed
