  • Brrrr it's cold

    Hi

I'm sure this has probably already been discussed, but, being lazy, I shall ask away.

I have noticed that my 2.4 td takes approx 15 minutes of driving before I start to get any warm/hot air out of the heaters, also the temp needle stays below the low mark for almost an eternity.

What can I do? should I be happy, considering some people have had overheating problems

First check the water level,if you need to top up do it via the
    rad cap not expantion bottle.
If the water level is ok pos theremostat very easy to change
3 bolt and theremo approx £7 and fresh anti freeze/water to
    refill.

    Keep us posted Chris

Get some DEI Radiator relief from Agriemach or Frosts. 1/2 Mile to normal temp I kid you not. I swear by it, also reduces the overall temp by aout 20 degrees.

Sounds like a thermostat stuck open or missing though.

          Cheers

I used Radiator Relief in my old 2.4 and it worked very well. Warmed up within a mile.

Mine takes about 15-30 mins to warm up proper if I'm sitting in traffic otherwise with normal open road driving it's warm within a mile or two.

                    you guys are ace

                    Hi

I finally got round to changing the thermostat, after spending £5 and 20 minutes. I now have a car that heats very well and wow the temperature needle moves.

                    excellent, thanks guys.
