  • Newbie Questions about getting a Surf .

    Hi

sorry if this is in the wrong forum , if so mod please move .

Ive been looking recently into getting a Surf , but I have a couple of questions if any1 would please help me out .

Where is the best place to buy 1 from Dealer or Private ( If any 1 knows any good dealers around the Glasgow area please tell . ) ?

Is there anything I should be looking out for when buying 1 , problems etc ?

What is insurance like on them as they are imported cars ?

Is auto or manual transmission better or worse on them ?

any answers would be greatly appreciated ,

    Thankz

Being down south I don't know

On 2.4's there could be an issue that some of the heads appear to crack. So if going for a 2.4 make sure if buying from a dealer the head is covered, if it has had the head replaced it was replaced with a NEW head, see receipts to prove it. MPG between the 3.0 & 2.4 is hardly any difference, the 3.0 will offer more power and cruise at higher speeds on long runs.
Make sure the Surf has been undersealed as they are not done in Japan, any vehicle that has been driven over here for some time and not done I would personally steer clear off

Insurance is easy to get, check companies like Lifesure who specialise in imports

Is auto or manual transmission better or worse on them ?
    Purely down to personal preference
