OK maybe a silly question, did you tell the insurance company about it and if so how much extra did they charge you?
    Cheers

The wires to the throttle and pump are connected via scotchlocks (supplied). 2 sticky pads hold the box to the inner wing and Diesel Bob's your uncle (sorry!). You need to set the adjuster on the box to get a balance between power and black smoke. I need my injectors overhauling so my box is set at just about 1/2 the max power gain. Bob can uprate your injectors to cope with the extra fuel being pushed through under heavy pulling, so guess where I'm going soon?
Overall, the box is a piece of cake to fit and the gains are unbelievable, and Bob is very helpful and generally a nice bloke to deal with.
Go to www.dieselbob.co.uk or ring 01254 878790 and tell him Mick, the pain from Newcastle said hello.
The wire colours above are for my Surf, others may differ, but 10 minutes with a multimeter is all it takes. PM or email me if you get stuck, I might be able to help.
To give you an idea of the difference in power, I go up past the Angel of the North on my way to work. It's a long pull up the A1 dual carrigeway and I can normally just manage 65mph up it in kickdown if I hit the bottom at 75. This afternoon I went up at 75 and had to slow down for traffic.
I have yet to see what the economy is like, but I can tell that I'm not pushing the motor as hard just to keep up, so that has to be better.
You say that this unit is adjustable, can it be adjusted in cab on the move or is it a pop the the bonnet job.

Mines under the bonnet at the mo, but I'm going to try it inside the cab when I get a chance and take the wires from the ECU. I suppose it could be adjusted on the move, but the adjuster is on the box itself not on a flylead and once set needs no further adjustment.
You can take my 4x4 from me when you prize the keys from my cold, dead hand.

I Have bought and fitted a BOBBOX Power Upgrade Unit to my 2.4 td Surf and am very pleased with it. Even though I thought all (4) connections where proporly made the first time I tryed it there was no difference in performance so I thought I had made a wrong connection the actual problem was a poor connection with the wire that goes to the throttle position sensor made with a scotch lock . Anybody that buys one of these units check and check again first for correct connetion and second for a good connection. The best check is to seperate the unit from the short 4 wire loom via the 9 pin computer type plug (after making the 4 wire connections ) and checking for contiuity with a multimeter while the engin is running. The 9 pin plug has small numbers next to the pins and should read :-

          PIN 1 - GROUND - BLACK WIRE.
PIN 2- SIGNAL TO MAF / THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR - WHITE WIRE
PIN 4- TO FULE PUMP - YELLOW WIRE
PIN 5- TO IGNITION SWITCHED LIVE SUPPLY - RED WIRE

I have bought this unit because I intend to have an INTERCOOLER fitted and have set it to 1/4 on the veriable setting this allows for an increase in performance but with no increase in black smoke. Quite expensive but definatly makes a differnce.

The small box with Toyota on it is the MAF / MAP THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR and the signal wire goes to this but check that yours is the same as it may be different to mine .

          I'd Rather Have A 4" Lift Than A 4" Extension !!!
