  • Transmission Cooler

Thinking about putting in a seperate transmission cooler on my 2LTE auto. Just wondering if any of the later model surfs/4 runners had a seperate a/t cooler as I'm guessing this would be the best suited and hopefully bolt on with out too many dramas. If not, anybody got any suggestions for what would be suitable for this auto?

Also on an entirely different topic the local 4x4 mag here has a section with a list of used car specs, approx prices etc. It says the 2.4 turbo has 97kw @ 3600 and 333nm @2000 revs Mine sure doesn't feel like its got torque like that when I take off at the lights??????

I've got a '90 model year Japanese brochure which quotes the 2.4LTE as 97ps @ 3800 and 24.5kgm @ 2400. Not sure what the ps is (I thought it was some sort of horse power) but the torque is 240Nm

ps = Pferdestärke, it means horse strength, it is the german measurement for our BHP and is supposed to be more a realisitic measurement than the BHP measurement.

So I guess that means it is horsepower but measured with the engine driving the alternator, etc.

well not really, it's more or less the same as our BHP but the germans use a different basis to measure it (supposedly more accurate, don't ask me how though). to get a BHP figure from p.s. just divide PS by 1.0139. 97ps = 95.6BHP (uk).... U.S. BHP is different again and seems to be more or less based on guesswork.
